Götz W. Werner

Prof. Götz W. Werner is the founder of the dm-drogerie markt GmbH in Karlsruhe, which is the number one in the ranking of Germany’s 6 most popular drugstore chains. He was managing director of the company for around 3 1/2  decades before switching to the supervisory committee in 2008. Between 2003 and 2010 he was director of the Interfakultatives Institut für Entrepreneurship at the Institut für Technologie and since 2011 also curator  at the Institut für Familienunternehmen (IFF) in Stuttgart. He is also member of multiple supervisory committees and counselings of nationally and internationally operating companies.

The dm-drogerie markt GmbH has been expanding continually and expanded in eleven other countries and is now – with over 2,500 stores and around 36,000 employees one of the leading brands in Europe. Götz W. Werner has had a special style of leading from the beginning on. He values an anti-authoritarian concept that is based on values, understanding and respect. The corporate philosophy values the principles such as personality development, trust and creativity. Götz W. Werner received multiple awards for his innovative and responsible management. Amongst other awards, in 2008 he received the title „Entrepreneur of the Year“ in Germany in the category „Trade“.

With the release of his book „Einkommen für alle“ (engl. „Income for All“) in 2007, he provoked a nationwide discussion on a guaranteed minimum wage for every German citizen.
